Alanus University

Alanus University is a private, state-recognised university in Germany offering a broad range of Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in the arts, education, architecture, artistic therapies, and business.

What distinguishes the university is its interdisciplinary approach: artistic and academic perspectives are brought together across different fields of study, creating opportunities for exchange and collaboration. Teaching combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience and encourages students to develop their individual interests and professional goals.

All degree programmes are state-recognised and lead to qualifications equivalent to those awarded by public universities in Germany. Many programmes are designed to accommodate different life situations and can be studied part-time or alongside professional commitments.

Pedagogy / Waldorf Pedagogy in English

Master of Arts

The three-year international part-time Master’s degree programme in Waldorf Pedagogy with a focus on “Teaching and Research” prepares students for professional careers as teachers and researchers at Waldorf schools. At the heart of the programme is an in-depth theoretical and academic engagement with reform pedagogy and Waldorf education in today’s world.

Particular emphasis is placed on acquiring Waldorf educational and didactic competencies, as well as academic, practice-based research skills and the gradual development and implementation of research projects. Another goal is to support (future/current) Waldorf teachers in developing their authentic potential and personality through artistic transformation. Students develop a range of observation and judgement skills and train their creativity, flexible thinking, and personal responsibility.
